 PASTICHE - Means to combine multiple elements. In postmodernism media this can be a homage or a parody of past styles.
It can often reference pop culture as part of the narrative.
Postmodern productions often blur the lines between good and evil, light and dark for both viewers and characters.

 HYPER REALITY - Is a condition in which reality has been replaced by simulacra.

 SIMULACRA - An image or representation of someone or something.

  • PASTICHE - Billie Jean pays homage to Singing in the Rain as the narratives of both are similar as they are both dancing in the street. The set for both videos is the same also. However, it's a parody of Singing in the Rain as it shows the consequences of dancing in the streets is different for people of different skin colours. 
  • HYPER REALITY - In reality he's running away from a PI but he's made out to be as the victim due to the simulacra. 
  • SIMULACRA - Michael Jackson is seen as powerful and untouchable.

TRAILER LINK STATEMENT OF INTENT My film is unique due to disability not being a highly used theme in the film industry.  My film has many aspects that appeal to all audiences. For example, to appeal to male audiences it has the element of disaster within the car crash scene. Also, it applies to females due to the main character being a female dancer. Lastly, young people would want to see my film due to the coming of age element of it, and how they can relate to it.  Sophistication in sound is shown by adding homo-diegetic sound in the form of a voiceover. This is then followed by the diegetic sound of the car skidding and crashing into the other. Non-diegetic sound then comes in as the sound of the thunder is heard only by the audience not the characters. (anything read or seen in the case of movies) Therefore no film exists on its own and consciously or not all films borrow ideas from other films, past or present. Nothing exists on its own. To the right is an example of this. Who is intertextuality important to? writers directors audience Family guy and The Simpsons are two TV programs that like to use intertextuality. But they use it in a more comedic way to gain humour from their audiences.
